Check out this HUGE list of free ThinkOrSwim downloads and thinkScripts! With most of the indicators and studies I program for my trading, I put a lot of time and energy into them in order to make sure they’re professional quality and offer a premium value — that they’re not just rehashing old chart studies that are already available, and have options that traders can use to customize them to their own trading. But there are also a lot of good free thinkScripts out there that do useful things too. And I do get asked about where to download free thinkorswim indicators from time to time, so in true Josiah fashion, I decided I wanted to deliver and go massively above and beyond in providing value, even for something that is completely FREE!

What This Is

This post contains a massive collection of free thinkorswim downloads that the authors have made available without charge on the web through the ThinkOrSwim sharing platform’s special sharing links feature. These thinkScript downloads are not my own, so I don’t warrant or offer any kind of support for them. And I’m not hosting them on my own site, I’m only linking to the downloads on TD Ameritrade’s servers where the authors posted them for free. But I wanted to provide a good one-stop resource for people looking for free thinkorswim resources, custom quote columns, scanners, chart studies, technical indicators, and strategies for the thinkorswim platform, and this list should definitely do that for you!

How to Install thinkScripts and ThinkOrSwim Downloads – First Things First

To install ThinkOrSwim downloads and indicators from these links, there are 2 options: either click the link and then the green button on the next page, OR simply copy the link, select “Setup” on the upper right of your ThinkOrSwim application, and select “Open shared item…” Then paste in the link and open it that way. Sometimes the first method doesn’t work depending on how you have your app installed, so sometimes the second method is the best way.

IMPORTANT: after you import any Scan, go to Scan tab and click on top right menu icon to select the saved query.  Then edit the filters and add any extra filters, and select watchlist of symbols with liquid options top left Scan In.  Now click on top right menu icon and Save Query to save your changes.

    I hope to get to it at some point, just haven’t been able to yet. If you click them, or paste them into TOS > Setup > Open Shared Item, that should show you the name without having to fully import them into your system yet.

    great job looks like a ton of work,just got moved over to tos and do not know how to go from your site to to tos new to this and Im 75 years young and that does not help…if you couls email me on how to this I would greatly appreciate the help…

    Hi Josiah,

    I’m new to trading and my biggest issue, right now, is finding stocks before well before they peak. I found the custom scanner, below, that might get me to where I need to go, but it was scripted for Stockfetcher. I don’t want an account with them, so am hoping you could direct me to of your TorS custom scan that is similar.

    what i would like to do is make a scan in TOS that looks for a few things 21 period simple moveing avg. and standard dev channel what i am lookih for is

    1. stddev channel is slopping up
    2. 21 period SMA is at or below the bottom of the std dev channel

    but im not quite sure how to code those 2 studies with that ceriteria into a scann

    i want an aleart right at the white circle

    I can’t get the downloads to work. It says an application is needed to open the link. It won’t automatically open thinkorswim……

    I’d like to use a Bollinger Band around a 5 day moving average. But when I apply the BB it is calculated off the original price rather than the 5 day MA. Is there any study that might show how this is done?

    Do you have an indicator that has harmonic patterns ABCD and/or bat patterns? I like trading those but have to map them out manually on different time frames. Thank you

    Thank you for your generous work. I am not experienced with creating scripts and am looking for a script that matches Volume Buzz indicator from TC2000/freestockcharts.com. It compares total volume at any given time of day to the same time of days total volume average of the past 100 days.
    I found on another site a “cumulative relative volume by time” indicator but its not quite what Im looking for.

    At 4:00 the final result should be a percentage that shows todays volume as a percentage of the 100 day moving average. But for example at 9:45 it would tell me if volume is 200% compared to average volume for the last 100 days at 9:45. Would you be able to help?
